The International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) forms part of an extensive network in the field of Global Development and Social Justice; with partners in research and teaching, and through our alumni we share a local, national and international network.
Local and national partnerships
Locally, we focus on partnerships with communities in The Hague, with close links, teaching programmes and capacity building projects with many of the international organizations, ministries, embassies and NGOs in and around the city.
Embedded in Dutch academia with European and global linkages
In the national context, our links within Erasmus University Rotterdam are key to our embeddedness in the Dutch academic world.
We are also part of a strong network of likeminded organizations and institutes in international cooperation in higher education such as the SAIL platform for international higher education, research and capacity building and the Platform for International Education.
European and global partnerships
The International Institute of Social Studies is ISS is one of the founding members of the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI) in Europe.
Internationally, ISS has partnership agreements with a range of organizations and universities worldwide. These agreements have led to joint teaching programmes, joint and double PhD programmes and joint research and staff exchange. ISS is also participating in various research networks.
