Towards sustainable living communities
ISS alumna Victoria Manya, PhD researcher at Leiden University and Knowledge Broker of INCLUDE Platform, will moderate the side event dialogue, Towards sustainable living communities, in collaboration with INCLUDE Platform, Global Law Thinkers Society (GLTS), Connected Advocacy for Empowerment & Youth Development Initiative and Daffodil International University.
Panelists will discuss actionable recommendations for labour-based incentives and youth-centric policies to drive a just transition.

Fashion Trends for Climate Change after 2030
Luciana dos Santos Duarte, a double-degree PhD researcher in Development Studies at ISS and Production Engineering at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), will present 10 trends in technology for fashion in a world with extreme temperatures and more disasters on Thursday, 14 November. Trends include from adaptation to become nocturnal, development of surviving kits, to the aestheticization of Climate Change in dystopian narratives.
Her presentation is part of the panel Fashion and Climate Change after 2030: Sustainability and ESG Trends Shaping the Future of the Apparel Industry, featuring key representatives from Brazil’s fashion sector, including Heads of Sustainability from Lojas Renner and Lunelli Textil.

Rethinking Climate Displacement: Disaster, Socio-Political Drivers, and Anticipatory Action
Dr Rodrigo Mena and PhD researcher Hyeonggeun Ji will join other international experts to explore critical pathways for accelerating climate action, advancing policy frameworks, and fostering innovative and up-to-date debates on climate change, migration and disasters.
The researchers will host a panel at the Climate Mobility Pavilion organized by the Global Centre for Climate Mobility / Climate Mobility Pavilion.
The Hague Humanitarian Studies Centre (HSC) of ISS, represented by Dr Mena and Mr Ji will host a dialogue titled Rethinking Climate Displacement: Disaster, Socio-Political Drivers, and Anticipatory Action. This event aims to deepen understanding of climate-related displacement by examining complex, multi-hazard interactions and socio-political factors and the possibilities of anticipatory action, challenging oversimplified narratives of climate-induced displacement.
