'In a city that widely represents international relations and global peace and justice, it is surprisingly possible to get buried in one’s academic bubble.
For me, being a member of the World Class is an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, interact with the city’s governance and policy influencers as well as create connections that last a lifetime. Being an international student here in the Netherlands, the World Class programme has been one of the opportunities outside of my school to see how knowledge is transferred between academia and practice, and this is useful for instance for knowing more about different state and international organisations as well as what their mandates are and what opportunities exist within the Netherlands.
The World Class opens both local and international students up to a world of possibilities in the Hague and beyond and may even be useful in thinking about career pathways.
Attending the World Class lectures, participating in conferences and other social activities is definitely a good get away from the world of academia but still with an essence of continuous learning in a fun way.
