On 24 February, 2016 Dr. Icaza was appointed as one of the five members of University of Amsterdam (UvA) 'Diversity Commission'
The Commission will conduct research on the state of diversity across the UvA student/staff body, curricula and pedagogical practices and give advice towards a diversity policy to the University Board.
Rosalba Icaza's research will focus on the formal and informal obstacles to diversity in the processes of knowledge validation for curricula design. Rosalba will also contribute in the design of the participatory approach to be deployed in the research process.
The Diversity Commission is chaired by Professor Gloria Wekker, former director of the Center for Gender, Ethnicity and Multiculturalism in Higher Education from the University of Utrecht.
