We are delighted to feature Mare Fort, an alumna who shares insights about her position as Global Director of People and Strategy at Action Against Hunger USA.
Fort graduated from the MA in Development Studies programme at the International Institute of Social Studies in 1994. With over 30 years of experience as a humanitarian and development practitioner, she has worked in various regions, including the United States, Latin America and Southeast Asia. Previously, she has worked with research organizations and the well-known NGO Care International.
Fort joined Action Against Hunger USA in July 2021. The organization is part of a significant international network that leads the global movement to end hunger. In her role, she oversees the human resources agenda, working closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure the successful implementation of the global strategy. Fort shares that the non-profit operates in 50 countries with a dedicated team of 8,300 staff members. Given this large workforce, it is certain that her role brings a lot of excitement to her everyday tasks.
