The Wim Deetman Scholarship (WDS) award will fund their studies at ISS.
On 25 October 2016, six ISS students were among those to receive the Wim Deetman Scholarship award to sponsor their studies at ISS.
They received the award from Wim Deetman himself (former Mayor of The Hague) and from Ingrid van Engelshoven (current Deputy Mayor).
About the WDS
Established in 2008 by the then Mayor of The Hague, Wim Deetman, the WDS is awarded each year to students from developing countries who would like to study for a masters degree in The Hague in the area of peace and justice.
To be considered for the award, students:
- should have completed a bachelor’s degree in their country of origin with a minimum grade point average of 7.5 (out of 10) for their courses in their final year.
- may not be older than 30 years.
- should have an outstanding motivation for their chosen programme and show that they are socially involved.
