On Friday, 1 April 2016 Professor Inge Hutter (ISS rector) and Marens Engelhard (director of the Dutch National Archives) signed the agreement to hand over the ISS Archives.
During this festive moment Professor Hutter underlined the importance of the archives being made available tothe general public and scientists. Engelhard stipulated the role of ISS in relation to the Dutch and European de-colonization in the second half of the 20st century.
The archives contain material produced between 1952 when the ISS was established and 2009 when the institute became part of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
