ISS PhD researcher Brandon Sommer has co-authored an article with Stefan Schmalz on 'Industrial action and pension worries: why workers strike'.
In the article the authors analyse the 2014 strike by more than 40,000 workers at the largest shoe supplier to the world’s biggest brands in Southern China. They provide a brief explanation of why workers went on strike and how this will affect labour relations in 'the workshop of the world’, Guangdong.
