Interview with ISS professor Irene van Staveren in Dutch development cooperation journal Vice Versa on Trump and the hyper-masculinity of the financial world.
In the interview (only available in Dutch), Irene van Staveren argues that high levels of testosterone in the financial world create more panic and more risk-taking. She argues that more women in top financial positions decrease the likelihood of financial crises or at least limits their intensity.
She goes on to point out that the testosterone-driven world of banking will only get worse under Trump who has already indicated he wants to reverse laws which aim to reign in risky and aggressive behaviour by banks.
