A genealogy of women in Islam - conference

Hosted by the Civic Innovation Research Group and the Fahm Instituut, this is a six week online course from 10 February to 17 March 2021.

The course will be delivered in English by Anne Dijk of Fahm Institute, offering an in-depth course on diverse interpretations of key texts on the position of women in the Quran, hadith, and fiqh.

The course will consider agency and female Islamic leadership throughout the history of Islam and recent internal Islamic dialogue about pros and cons on feminism.

Course dates and costs

The course will be held online via Zoom from 10 February–17 March 2021. It is open to anyone interested in the subject matter and hopes to attract a diverse and inclusive audience.
