A fantastic week of events celebrating ISS' 70th anniversary culminating in the Dies Natalis on 13 October.
Between 10 and 14 October 2022, the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) hosted a number of academic and social events to celebrate its 70th anniversary.
Based around the theme of 'Reconnecting', the week included a visit to Palace Noordeinde (ISS' first 'home') by alumni who had actually studied there, the launch of a new book and online course, a discussion on Open and Responsible Science, an exhibition of artwork by female political prisoners in Iran's Evin prison and, of course the Dies Natalis itself on 13 October.
During the Dies we travelled through 70 years of ISS history, focusing on how the buildings which have housed ISS have typified and shaped the nature of the institution and are a reflection of the changing thinking about development cooperation.
