In this latest post on ISS blog, Bliss, Delphin Ntanyoma explores the ‘gambling game’ through which the recent general elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been compromised by surprises.
He argues that the results of the election recently show interesting developments: the opposition remained weak despite rallying together, and the Catholic Church came to play a pivotal role. He suggest that the far-fetched results of the presidential elections will unlikely contribute to the DRC’s long-term stability.
