Easily access policy documents, white papers, reports, and more in new Policy Commons trial

The University Library provides renewed trial access to Policy Commons until 18 June. Policy Commons is a one-stop platform for research from the world’s leading policy experts, nonpartisan think tanks, IGOs and NGOs.

Policy Commons provides access to almost 2.5 million full-text think-tank publications, including policy reports, administrative documents, books, project and campaign documents, working papers and discussion papers, journal articles, press releases, briefs, and brochures.

While policy touches every aspect of our lives, most policy publications are published as ‘grey literature’ and can be hard to find. Policy Commons harvests reports, blogposts, working papers, articles, datasets, and more from thousands of policy organizations from around the world. It gathers these publications on an easy-to-use platform. This includes 400,000 pages of research that’s disappeared from more than 500 inactive think tanks.

In this trial we have access to the Global Think Tanks collection: a collection of objective, fact-based research from the world’s leading policy experts, think tanks, IGOs and NGOs. For example, take a look at the report the Institute for Policy Studies published on the impact of private jets. In 2022, Elon Musk generated 132x as much CO2 as an average US citizen, just by choosing to fly in a private jet.
