The Development Dialogue (DD) conference is a yearly initiative organized by PhD researchers of the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS). At the conference, doctoral candidates and early career researchers share and discuss their ideas and work.
The last edition of the conference was held in the summer of 2021. The organizers of the conference have recently launched a website where you can find more information on the initiative and previous editions of the conference.
What is the Development Dialogue?
The Development Dialogue conference brings together researchers, practitioners, academics and specialists in a various fields of development from around the world. The annual conference provides early career researchers the opportunity to present their work and critically discuss it with peers and others who work in the development sector.
It also enables young researchers to look beyond their specific areas of study. By reflecting on the implications of their work in the context of current development practice and global challenges, they are stimulated to engage with counter-narratives and look at alternatives for social change.
