On Saturday 12 March 2022, nine graduates of the MPA in Governance programme received their degrees at a graduation ceremony in Paramaribo, Surinam.
The MPA in Governance is a collaborative programme of ISS and the F.H.R. Lim A Po Institute for Higher Education in Suriname. The programme has run since 2005 and has graduated almost 250 students.
The MPA in Governance was set up to contribute to the strengthening of the knowledge and skills of staff in responsible positions in the public sector in Surinam. Many of the MPA graduates now occupy leading positions at ministries, parastatal companies, the Surinamese army, civil society organizations and international institutions. The MPA was accredited twice by the European Association for Public Administration Accreditation (EAPAA) and the national accreditation agency in Suriname (NOVA).
