On 16 May 2019, Professor Murat Arsel gave his inaugural lecture entitled 'Climate change and class conflict in the Anthropocene'.
In a well attended aula, Murat Arsel addressed the following questions: 'Can the fight against climate change create a common front between the rich and the poor? Or will it deepen the chasm between them since their interests are fundamentally irreconcilable?'.
By engaging with these questions, his inaugural lecture discussed the utility of class analysis for understanding the nature of climate activism.
