9 October: Erasmus Open Access event 2018

On 4 September 2018 a new plan for accelerating the transition to full open access for all academic output was presented by cOAlitionS. This plan is called Plan S. cOAlitionS consists of 11 research funding organisations from different European countries with the support of the European Commission including the European Research Council (ERC). NWO is representing the Netherlands.

Open Science & Open Access are buzzwords in the present day of academic publishing. Researchers/ universities are expected to fully publish in Open Access in 2020. However, the biggest hurdle on their way is the paywall. Learn all about this paywall and how to deal with it during the Erasmus Open Access event 2018.

Join the conversation with Robert-Jan Smits, Open Access Envoy of the European Commission, on his Plan S to accelerate the transition to full and immediate Open Access to scientific publications.

Pearl Dykstra will relate her concerns on open access for publications and data, and discuss the dilemmas that young researchers face.
