He will illuminate the relationship of technology to power, noting the positionality of individuals within inequitable social hierarchies.

In the context of social justice, he stresses the importance of understanding the interplay between vulnerabilities and technological affordances. The discussion highlights cases of individuals and communities devising strategies within technologically-mediated networks to dis/empower themselves.

Theorizing harm as a dynamic negotiation process between sociostructural imposition and individual agency, he offers new provocations to consider the role of technology in development as mitigation of marginalization.
