ISS PhD researcher Ben Radley interviewed on the impact of the Democratic Republic of Congo's (RDC) new mining code.
In this article published online on CIMmagazine, Ben Radley points out that the new code is long overdue and in line with similar codes across Africa.
He argues that although the new code will enable the DRC to capture more of the profits of mining, it falls short in terms of addressing questions of good governance and is unlikely to make a significant difference for the Congolese people.
