Dr Juan David Parra Heredia was recently invited to lead a workshop at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in Spain on 'Realist Evaluation' for scholars from the faculties of sociology and education who are designing an assessment of a new education policy in Catalonia, Spain.
The workshop featured a combination of theoretical insights into the methodology and practical, hands-on activities, enabling participants to immediately apply the concepts to their study design.
This engagement was particularly meaningful as the group is part of REFORMED, a prominent international initiative that has, in recent years, produced influential research and publications on how global trends in school system reforms – centred on accountability and autonomy governance principles – have shaped teaching and learning worldwide.
