On Thursday 13 February 2025, the International Institute of Social Studies hosted delegates from the Dutch Ministry of Asylum and Migration to exchange thoughts on recent developments in migration research.

The event showcased the diversity of pertinent topics addressed at ISS, ranging from the experiences of undocumented migrants, platform workers and LGBTQ+ asylum seekers in the Netherlands, to the dynamics of post-conflict communities and human trafficking, to migration decision-making, the lawfare of ‘migration crises’ and reception of refugees ‘in the region’.
ISS researchers and delegates from the Ministry engaged in nuanced conversation about the latest insights from critical research and the practical applicability of these insights.
